What are Dip Nails?

What are Dip Nails?
The name dip powder basically explains the process. First, a base coat is applied, and the nail is dipped into a powder. The process is repeated a couple of times depending on how many coats you want. After that, the rough and powdery layers are transformed into a smooth, and glossy finish once a sealant is applied. In addition to this process, you don’t have to worry about the possibility of skin damage from UV lamps. Unlike the classic gel manicure, it dries instantly.

Benefits:
Dip Powders is a safe and healthy alternative to traditional acrylics and gel polish.  The smell, and the time to apply, and the effects on the nails will leave customers wanting more. Dip Powders have no monomer odor when applied. Dipping can be done in about a third to half the time as it takes to get an acrylic. It also soaks off easier than gel polish or acrylic.

Why is this so Popular?
Compared to acrylics, Dip Powders are faster to apply and don’t have an odor. For instance they leave the nail bed healthy and undamaged.  Dip Powders are more durable than gel polish and just as durable as acrylics. However, they come in many color and with glitters and other color effects. You can also get the same appearance as gel polish and also the perfect pink and white. Dip powder can stay on natural nails for 8 weeks.

How to remove:
The first step in removing the dip is to sand off of the Gel Top from all nails. However,  you can either use foil with Acetone or soak the nails in Acetone for 10 minutes and then wipe them off with a paper towel.

Cost

There are kits you can buy to do acrylic dip powder nails at home. But I do not like the idea of this because this is a professional service and in my opinion, should be performed by licensed professionals. Therefore, I know the at home kit may be only $15 and the service at your favorite nail salon may cost $35+ but please let the professionals serve you because it’s not worth the risk of causing a mess and making your nails look awful just to save a few bucks. In other words, costing more to get it fixed.
